you can’t buy love.
but you can adopt it.

Interested in adopting a pet? Visit our Animal Photo Gallery and start your journey! Just click on a photo to see more details about any animal in the gallery. IF YOU WISH TO ADOPT

We offer Pet Adoption or Foster-to-Adopt. All Adoptions and Fosters are being conducted in person. If you are interested in adopting or fostering a pet, click below to view animals in our care. You can also see additional pets available for adoption in our community via Home To Homeâ„¢, an IVHS & SPCA animal re-homing partner.

Waitwhile appointments required for all potential adoptions

We have temporarily made a change in our adoption processes.

9 A.M. – 11 A.M.: *TEMPORARILY CLOSED*

1 P.M. – 5 P.M.: For the health and safety of the pets in our care, walkthroughs have been put on a temporary pause. All potential adopters must check-in to our queue system, Waitwhile, and wait for their name to be called. Since our kennels are temporarily closed to view the animals, adopters must enter the Animal ID of the pet(s) they are interested in meeting. This information can be found on our website. The maximum number of pets that potential adopters can meet during this time is two (2). Please browse the available pets in our care on our website so you may have those Animal IDs ready when you join Waitwhile.

MONDAY – SATURDAY
1 p.M. – 5 p.M.

Things to keep in mind as you explore our gallery

We DO NOT place any animals on adoption holds. This includes puppies, kittens, or other small animals. Not every animal listed is CURRENTLY available for adoption or available at the time you are looking through the website. Many have recently been rescued and are on hold awaiting reunification with their owner and/or may be under protective custody.

A few OF THE Pets in our care

Protective Custody Hold

Our humane and animal control officers investigate cases of suspected animal cruelty that may require the removal of animals from properties. Sometimes, we house these animals throughout the duration of the investigation. While these animals might not be listed on the website, please note that not every animal housed in our shelter is available for adoption.

Medical Hold

An animal may be receiving ongoing treatment while they are in our care. Some animals are placed on a temporary medical hold until our veterinary staff clears them for adoption. While they may not be available for adoption, they may be available to foster. Please contact our foster team if there is an animal you are interested in fostering.

Stray Hold

When animals come into our shelter, they are automatically placed under a temporary stray hold per state and local laws. This gives time to reunite pets with their owners. If an animal comes into our shelter with a valid form of identification including a current license or microchip, they may be held for an extended period of time.

FIRST COME, FIRST SERVEd

We conduct adoptions on a first come, first served basis. While we recognize that this may be frustrating, our main objective is to find great homes for our animals. If the animal you are interested in has been adopted, please ask our Adoption Coordinators about our other animals. We have many animals that are looking for their forever homes and would make a great addition to your family.

Adoptions are processed within the hour that they occur. And although our customer care staff works quickly to reflect the change in status, website delays may occur. Keep in mind that the animal you are interested in may be adopted by the time you arrive for your walk-through. As a reminder, adoptions are not guaranteed, and we encourage you to inquire about other animals that need a home during your visit.
