Pomona, California: This Thanksgiving, we’re inviting you to share the warmth of the holidays with the animals awaiting their forever homes at the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. (IVHS). Back by popular demand, our 5th annual Feast for Furballs invites our community to donate select Thanksgiving leftovers to help make this holiday extra special for the dogs and cats in our care.
Don’t Let Thanksgiving Leftovers Go to Waste
Toss that Tupperware! Instead of letting extra meals pile up, consider sharing your scraps. IVHS staff and volunteers will be collecting donations of cooked, boneless and skinless turkey, plain green beans, and plain mashed sweet potatoes—all items that are both safe and tasty for the shelter animals.
Event Details:
Date: Friday, November 29th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Drop-Off Location: Main Parking Lot of the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A.
How to Help: Place your leftovers in disposable containers and drop off any or all of the items on our “Menu” at the shelter.
Menu:
Cooked boneless, skinless turkey
Plain green beans
Plain sweet potatoes, preferably mashed
Donated goods will be collected and portioned utilizing a drive-thru tent in the IVHS main parking lot. To ensure a smooth and efficient distribution, please have all items fully cooked and ready to go in disposable containers. With your help, we’re aiming to provide meals for over 150 dogs and 120 cats! We thank our community members for their continued support of this successful event and wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
