Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA Investigates Dog with Mouth Bound

March 6, 2018, Ontario, CA – A 4 year old Poodle with apparent signs of abuse was brought to the Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA on Monday, March 05, 2018 by IVHS Officers.

A Good Samaritan notified the Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA of an injured dog on the 700 block of Amador Avenue in the city of Ontario. The dog appeared to have had a rubber band tightly bound around the top of his mouth and was suffering tremendously.

IVHS Officers took the dog for emergency care and he was later transferred to the Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA where Shelter Veterinarians conducted surgery to treat the dog’s severely infected mouth and tongue. It was unclear how long the dog had been suffering. The young dog was also found to be extremely matted.

The dog is described as 4 year male Poodle. The staff of the Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA has named the dog “Ricky.” He was found with no collar, ID tag or microchip. The Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA is currently investigating the case as an act of animal cruelty. The dog is currently stable and under medical care at the Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA.
