Pug assaulted by owner – rescued by ivhs & s.p.c.a.

October 26, 2020, Montclair, CA – A two-year-old Pug has been rescued from an apartment in Montclair following video evidence of him allegedly being beaten by his owner. Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA (IVHS) Humane Investigators have removed the dog, Chato, from the property under Penal Code 597 (Crimes against Animals) and the owner has been cited for a felony count of Animal Cruelty. Video footage shows a woman allegedly abusing her dog. Chato is seen attempting to escape and continues to be chased and assaulted throughout the footage.

Chato was immediately assessed by emergency veterinary personnel and received further evaluation from the IVHS Veterinary Team. He is alert and friendly and IVHS will continue to monitor him and provide veterinary care as needed throughout the duration of the investigation.
