March 16, 2020, Pomona, CA – The Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA (IVHS) has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 activity locally, nationally and globally.  Because IVHS cares for animals in our communities, we cannot just cease operations, but we are taking measures to mitigate exposure for our employees and community members out of concern for public health.

Effective immediately, to minimize foot traffic in common areas in the shelter, all dog and cat licenses will no longer be processed in-person.  Animal owners can submit new and renewal licenses online at, by mail to Attn:  Customer Service, 500 Humane Way, Pomona, CA 91766, or via phone by calling (909) 623-9777.  In addition, those experiencing financial difficulty can contact Customer Service to make payment arrangements at this time.

For those wishing to adopt or reunite with a lost animal, please go online to to view all available animals at the shelter.  If you are interested in adopting an animal, please fill out an adoption application online and email it to and an Adoption Counselor will contact you for an appointment to view the animal(s) of interest.  For those looking for a lost pet, please contact our adoption team via phone or email above to schedule a visit to the shelter.  All vaccination clinics and outside appointments for vaccinations and spay/neuter have been cancelled until further notice, and only adoption follow up care appointments will be scheduled at this time.

IVHS will continue to provide active field services support to the municipalities we contract with and is committed to providing care to the homeless animals in our communities.
