Feast for Furballs

November 23, 2020, Pomona, CA – The Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. (IVHS) will be holding its first ever Feast for Furballs event on November 27th from 11am-12pm. As most families celebrate Thanksgiving differently this year, IVHS is offering an opportunity for members in the community to spread some joy while practicing the CDC’S recommended Covid-19 safety precautions. This event will provide each homeless, abandoned and neglected cat and dog at the shelter with a donated turkey dinner so they can partake in holiday festivities as they wait to be adopted.

For those interested in participating, IVHS has created a limited “Menu” with three dog/cat appropriate holiday foods that can be brought to the shelter on the day of the event. In an effort to reduce food wastage, leftovers from Thanksgiving meals that are on the Feast for Furballs’ “Menu” are encouraged.  IVHS wants leftovers, so no pet is left out.

To participate in Feast for Furballs:

  • Gather any—or all three— of the following cooked items
    • Boneless/Skinless Turkey
    • Plain Green Beans
    • Plain Sweet Potato
  • Pack them in disposable containers
  • Bring them to IVHS on 11/27 from 11am-12pm
  • Wear a mask/face covering and maintain social distancing

The shelter’s staff will then organize and distribute the meals to each cat and dog at the shelter.

During this challenging time, IVHS thanks all participants in advance for their generosity and for making animals in need feel included and cherished.
