To provide a meaningful experience for volunteers as they enrich the lives of shelter animals and provide assistance to shelter staff, customers and potential adopters.

volunteer program basics
- Anyone 18 years or older may apply to become an IVHS & SPCA volunteer.
- IVHS offers outside projects for our younger animal lovers – Click here for youth volunteer programs.
- You will be given a shirt, apron and name badge on your first day. Temporary name badges are available in the volunteer center if you forget your badge. No open toe shoes. Long pants are required.
- Please note that we do not offer court ordered community service.
how do I become a volunteer?
IVHS takes volunteers over the age of 18, no experience needed! Please fill out an online application below, and sign up for an orientation date. Following your orientation, you can begin volunteering at any time. We have an easy-access volunteer portal where you can sign up for shifts.FILL OUT VOLUNTEER APPLICATION

If you do not see available orientation slots, the day has been filled. Volunteer orientation openings are released a month prior to each scheduled orientation date. One-on-one orientations can be done on a limited basis. If you have additional questions, please email us at email@example.com.
